Six questions commonly asked
by our clients...
1. Why should a company consider a service agreement with a van line?
Atlas Van Lines and ABC together have had the pleasure of managing household moves for thousands of companies of all sizes. Our clients appreciate the added value and benefits of a service agreement that monitors activity, standardizes service levels and helps control and manage the budget. By having an agreement in place, your company is recognized as a national account. This means you are afforded the top drivers, selected pricing options and service features not available to the COD customer.
2. Do I relocate enough employees to make it worthwhile to have an agreement?
While every move is similar in physical requirements, each presents a sensitive and emotional time for your employee and their family. Whether you move two families or two hundred during the course of a year, you can have a program tailored to the needs of your company and its culture. An agreement can help you avoid problems associated with failed relocations, including additional expense, lost productivity and a dissatisfied employee.
3. Do I have to guarantee a minimum number of relocations?
A transportation agreement with ABC and Atlas Van Lines is not binding to you or your corporation, and it does not require a minimum number of moves. An agreement is how we establish our commitment to provide you with stabilized pricing and certain amenities that are otherwise not available. It is also a way to ensure your program operates with maximum efficiency and that your company is assured of adherence to policy. Perhaps most important, it enhances the well-being of your employees with pre-move assistance, on-time services and post-move follow-up. We believe our customers enlist our services for the quality, service received.
4. What extra expense is associated with a transportation agreement?
Unlike third-party relocation companies, we do not charge an extra fee per shipment to manage your program. There are no additional charges for processing or auditing, nor for counseling and follow-up services. There are no charges other than the costs related to packing, transportation and other pre-authorized services.
5. What can I expect from a national account agreement with ABC?
Your company and employees will receive numerous benefits:
- Total quality management is a promise from your corporate account manager.
- Your employee and their family are relocated as a preferred national account.
- A personal relocation coordinator works directly with you and your employee.
- On-time surveys and accurate estimates help you develop a realistic budget.
- Guaranteed date scheduling lets you know precisely when packing, loading and delivery will take place.
- A bottom-line discount based on Tariff 400/104 applies to all shipments.
- Summer peak shipping rate schedules are waived.
- Full value protection (no deductible) gives you peace of mind on every shipment.
- Your packing and hauling is handled by ABC's expert teams, regardless of your origin and destination.
- There are no hidden increases or surprise fees. All charges are pre-authorized.
- Your invoices are audited by ABC to ensure the accuracy of charges.
- Storage-in-transit provides convenience and reassurance when your employee is searching for a home or waiting to close.
- Service after the move, including timely claim settlement, helps ensure your employee's satisfaction.
6. Wouldn't it be easier if I just let the employee pick his or her own mover? I really don't have the time.
That is an option, but only a small percentage choose it. Your employees will have questions about your company's policies, and they will look to you for guidance and direction. When we have a copy of your policy, we know what is or is not authorized, and we can help you answer those questions. If employees present special requests not covered, we review those requests with you before performing the service.
Moving and changes in plans go hand-in-hand. What if something unexpected happens, such as a delayed house closing, resulting in the need for temporary storage? We work with you and your employees to answer questions, solve problems, address mutual concerns, prevent and resolve conflicts and ultimately meet—if not exceed—your expectations.
